Abstract
Calculations have been made of the escape probability of a photoelectron after undergoing 0, 1, 2, · · · electron-phonon scattering events. Parameters include the mean free path for scattering by phonons, , the mean free path for scattering by electrons, , an optical-absorption coefficient, and a surface escape cone. Results have been tabulated so as to be of use in the analysis of photoemission data. Application of the results to experimental data on aluminum indicate Å and Å for electrons 9 eV above the Fermi energy.
