Abstract
Inelastic -scattering experiments have been performed on and at MeV over the angular range . It is apparent that the isoscalar giant resonance in these nuclei consists of at least two broad components. The angular distribution for one component ( MeV, MeV) is well described as , while that for other component ( MeV, MeV) is well described by an excitation exhausting approximately 100% of the energy-weighted sum rule.
