Abstract
Rupture of the interventricular septum of the heart is apparently more common than previously realized. Although only 88 cases had been reported to date, this paper presents 5 additional cases, bringing the total to 93. Four of these 5 cases were confirmed by autopsy. The clinical features are typical. The prognosis is grave, and therefore recognition of these septal ruptures is important, yet they are probably often overlooked. Keywords
