Abstract
Prostigmin was given to young rats in daily amts. of 0.04 to 0.1 mg. A total of 160 rats were used. Some were placed on the expt. at the time of weaning, others when sexually mature. Prostigmin injn. led to a slight increase in wt. of the ovaries. The uteri, if mature as the result of age or estrogens, increased in wt. following injns. of prostigmin and these changes were present after desiccation. Estrous cycles showed no significant change from normal. Inflammatory cells were more abundant in the submucosa after prostigmin. On the whole the pathological effects of prostigmin are minor as far as changes in the ovaries and uterus are concerned. Keywords
