Abstract
Given a selected group of journals in the Library of California State University at Dominguez Hills and an amount by which the subscriptions budget for these journnls was to be cut, a comparison was made of the titles chosen by faculty and by a generalized deselection model representative of a group of librarians. Although little similarity existed between the two sets of choices, the deselection model was nevertheless felt to be of value since it provided a systematic, multifaceted approach to determining the worth of a journal and, as such, could help to minimize the degree of subjective input to cancellation decisions. Keywords
