Abstract
The 1,4-dihydro-1-ethyl-6-fluoro-7-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-4-oxoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent active in experimental [animal] infections. The toxicological and pharmacokinetic profiles of the compound administered as methane sulfonic salt suggest the possibility of using it in systemic infections.
