Abstract
The electron-impact induced fragmentation of the organogermanes R4Ge (R = H, Me, Et, Bui, Ph, PhCH2, and p-tolyl), R1 3GeR2(R1= Ph and R2= Et, H; R1= PhCH2 and R2= Et), R6Ge2(R = Bui, PhCH2), (PhCH2)2GeMe2, Ph6Ge2O, and Me3GeCl has been studied at 70 eV under high resolution, and that of the organogermanes (o,m-tolyl)4Ge, Ph3GeX (X = Me, PhCH2, Cl, Br, and I), R6Ge2(R = Et, Ph, m-tolyl), (PhCH2)3GeH, Me3GeH, and GeCl4 at low resolution. Almost all the ion-current is carried by metal-containing ions and in general the most favoured fragmentation processes are those leading to even-electron ions. Keywords
