Abstract
It is usually laborious and difficult to determine satisfactorily the duration of the larval instars of those forms which molt in leaf-mines, bear cases, or are otherwise not readily measured without removal from shelter. A simple statistical method, which has several advantages, is described. Comparative data on Phyllotoma nemorata (Fallén) and Coleophora salmani Hein are given as examples. Keywords
