Abstract
A heart is described in which an anomalous septum subdivided the left auricle into 2 chambers. Other cases previously reported in the literature are summarized and the theories advanced to explain this malformation examined. The most plausible theory is considered to be that which postulates a defect at the junction between the pulmonary veins and the left auricle due to arrested development in the 2d month of fetal life. Keywords
