Abstract
Hydrogen molecules may be oriented by compressing solid hydrogen. If such orientation should prove practicable it would provide a mechanism producing very low temperatures by adiabatic compression of solid HD. The pressures necessary are estimated to be of the order of 10 000 atmos. Keywords
