Coronary-Artery Spasm after Revascularization

Abstract
To the Editor: The observations reported in the May 21 issue by Buxton et al.* are interesting, and they emphasize the importance of recognizing and understanding the various clinical expressions of coronary-artery spasm. We would like to describe a patient in whom coronary-artery spasm unexpectedly developed during coronary-bypass surgery.A 56-year-old Filipino man with exertional and resting chest pain underwent coronary-artery-bypass grafting for 80 per cent lesions of the left anterior descending and circumflex vessels. The right coronary artery was free of notable disease. After uneventful placement of the grafts and during attempted weaning from cardiopulmonary bypass, ST-segment elevation appeared . . .
