Abstract
Ellisco ® traps baited with virgin female Popillia japonica Newman exposed 11 inches above ground captured significantly more male beetles during the summer of 1970 in Monroe County, Tenn., than those exposed 44 inches above ground. However, femalebaited traps captured 11 and 7 times as many male beetles with the low and high exposure, respectively, as standard traps baited with phenethyl propionate + eugenol (7:3). When virgin female beetles were similarly exposed at heights of 0, 11,22, and 44 inches in Burlington County, N. J., those exposed at 11 inches captured significantly greater numbers of males. Keywords
