Abstract
Two strains of Cochliomyia hominivorax (Coquerel) were selected for mating aggressiveness of the females (based on the strike response to the male pheromone). In substrain A (from 2 ♀), aggressiveness increased from a mean of 3,6 strikes in the parent generation to 30.2 in the F2generation. There was no selection in the F2 and F3 generations, but the females retained their aggressive ness. The mean number of strikes in the F4 generation was 17.4. In substrain B (from 3 ♀), the mean number of strikes increased from 30 in the P1 generation to 16,8 in the F1 generation and to 19,5 in the F2 generation. Keywords
