Abstract
5 patients with pernicious anemia in relapse were treated with daily intramusc. injns. of 10-20 million U. of citrovorum factor. All patients showed improvement in appetite and sense of well being. Neurologic signs improved in 1 person. A submaximal reticulocyte response and suboptimal Hb and erythrocyte levels were attained in 4 cases. Subsequent admn. of 40 million U. to 3 patients produced a further rise in red blood cells, but normal blood counts were not reached. The reticulocyte response and hematologic values were optimal in a 5th patient treated with 20 million U.Keywords
