Abstract
THE tuberculin test has recently been given a major A place in the case-finding programs of tuberculosis-control agencies. Its use as a screening method before x-ray examination in groups with a low prevalence of tuberculous infection can result in a reduction not only in x-ray exposure but also in the cost of case finding. The application of the tuberculin test on a mass basis, however, presents several important technical problems.The test must be sensitive, specific and reliable.
