The Amino Acid Composition of the Coat Protein of a Tobamovirus From an Australian Capsicum Crop.

Abstract
The amino acid compostion of the coat protein of a tobamovirus from an Australian crop of Capsicum annuum cv. Blue Star was determined. Comparisons of these data with similar data for a range of tobamoviruses showed unequivocally that the Australian isolate is more closely related to pepper mild mottle virus than to other tobamoviruses isolated from capsicum, and illustrated the value of this strategy for identifying tobamoviruses.
