SOME PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED IN A SEVERE CASE OF TETANUS

Abstract
Tetanus in a 52-year-old woman was managed by muscle paralysis and controlled pulmonary ventilation. Marked peripheral circulatory failure developed and was accompanied by a fall in temperature to subnormal levels (33.3°C) for five days. Paralytic ileus developed also. She was discharged three months after entering hospital.
