Abstract
Ba-Y-Cu-O superconducting tapes were fabricated by the reaction between Cu substrate and mixture of BaCO3 and Y2O3 powders. Two layers of different compounds were formed on the Cu substrate after the reaction. The outer layer consisted of Ba2Y1Cu3O9-y superconducting compound and the inner layer was identified as Cu2O. Superconducting transition temperatures of 93 K (onset) and 40 K (offset) for the tapes were obtained. Keywords
