Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 79-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of fever, abdominal pain, and an inflamed right eye.The patient felt well until six days earlier, when he ate a huge turkey sandwich. Several hours later he began to experience abdominal pain and dizziness, both of which worsened as the evening progressed, even after he went to bed. Chilliness developed, and he was taken to another hospital, where physical examination showed that the temperature was 40.4°C; the blood pressure was 200/100 mm Hg.
