Abstract
Studies on the ostracodes of the French Senonian are still in a relatively early stage but are far enough advanced to enable some conclusions to be drawn. The Senonian is characterized by its great richness in ostracodes in both the Northern Realm (Paris Basin) and the Tethyan Realm (Aquitaine, Vendée, Provence). Stratigraphie subdivisions can be established using ostracodes in marine and non-marine environments. The Senonian is characterized by an important renewal of faunas on a species level. New supra-specific taxa have not been observed. Comparisons can be made with the Senonian of nearby countries, such as Great-Britain, Germany, Netherlands, Tchecoslovakia and Spain. Keywords
