Abstract
The literature of osteopetrosis has been reviewed and one case with a follow-up of twenty-four years has been reported. The benign form of this bone disease is associated with generalized sclerosis of the skeletal system. The multiple transverse fractures, thirty-three in this patient, are characteristic of the disease. Encroachment of the right optic nerve also occurred in this patient. Severe varus deformity of both femoral necks developed spontaneously during childhood, and an angular deformity of the right forearm resulted from numerous fractures of the right radius and ulna. All fractures were treated by conservative means. Keywords
