Abstract
The medium recommended consists of Bacto-tryptose 2, NaCl 0.5, Na citrate 0.5, agar 3 g., and dist. water 100 ml. The mouth of fiat rectangular bottles containing 15 ml. of this medium is covered with thick paper and sterilized at 15 lbs. pressure. Then 10 ml. of broth containing 2% bactotryptose and 2% Na citrate is added aseptically and the mouth closed with a sterile rubber stopper. To this can be added 10 ml. of blood to be cultured and the air replaced with suitable mixtures of CO2 for incubation.Keywords
