Abstract
In cirrhosis of the liver the adenine concentration of red blood cells is less than in normal cases, or in cases with a fatty liver. The adenine concentration is probably related to size. Macrocytes probably contain less adenine, though this was not observed in pernicious anemia. Low adenine concentration may accompany diseases with chronic anoxemia. Keywords
