Abstract
An equation of the form is developed for interstitial diffusion in cubic lattices. This development uses a classical statistical mechanical treatment. Measurements of for in -iron were made from -35° to 200°C. Combined with earlier data they extend the knowledge of in this system from to /sec. The values of and obtained by fitting the above equation to the experimental points give /sec. and cal./mole.
