Abstract
Red cell life span was measured in 5 subjects with sickle cell trait using both 51Cr and DF32P as red cell tags. All were otherwise normal except for one who had pernicious anemia in remission under maintenance therapy. The T 1/251Cr was 30.3 + 1.8 days. The mean cell life with DF32P was 107.4 + 12.3 days. Red cell life span in subjects with sickle cell trait residing at sea level is normal. Keywords
