Abstract
Duplicate diet analysis, metabolic balance studies and the measurement of biochemical andhaematological indices were used to assess the trace element and overall nutritional status of 24apparently healthy and 20 housebound elderly subjects. The housebound subjects had suboptimal status(as compared with the healthy subjects) for nitrogen, zinc, copper, iron, selenium, calcium andphosphorus. Keywords
