A New Didymium from Rarotonga, Cook Islands

Abstract
A new myxomycete [D. circumcissile sp. nov.] occurring on attached dead plant parts from Rarotonga is described. This species is characterized by minute phaneroplasmodia, tiny sporangia with circumcissile dehiscence, and a scanty, or often absent, capillitium. Observations on the life cycle of this organism, taxonomic notes, and a discussion of its habitat are included.
