Abstract
Transconioscopy is a valuable aid in the topical diagnosis of laryngeal carcinoma. By means of transconioscopy it is possible to disclose pathological changes in the subglottis that have not been recognized with laryngoscopy or with tomography. Because the prognosis is poor in carcinoma invading the subglottis, it is important to determine the extent of a glottic tumor before it is treated. The inspection of the subglottic space, therefore, is of great importance, and transconioscopy appears a superior method of investigation and should be carried out routinely. Keywords
