Abstract
A brief introduction to Philips' color sequential projection display is given. Picture quality in a conventional three light valve display is only slightly degraded by the electrical anisotropy of the liquid crystal (LC) material as only the changing parts of the image are affected. This is not true for a color sequential display where the static parts are also affected since the LC material is in a continuous state of change. We show how a feedforward correction scheme works, why it converges and how the convergence is linked to the LC's physical properties. Keywords
