Abstract
One of the changes in the structure of the labour markets of the industrialised Western countries has been the increase of part-time working. Examining the situation in seven OECD countries the article shows to what extent part-time workers are protected and covered by labour law and social security regulations, the barriers and incentives set by these regulations and the effects these regulations have on the structure of part-time work and the gender-specific segregation of labour markets. Keywords
