A Multilocus Genetic Model Applied to the Effects of Selective Fishing on the Growth Rate of Trout

Abstract
We used a generalized genetic model with varying numbers of genes to investigate the effects of selective fishing on the growth rate of trout. Our results indicate that the effects are not highly dependent on the details of the genetic model. In particular, the size distribution of the population in the long run seems to be insensitive to the number of active loci which control the growth rate of the fish.Key words: fish, trout, genetics, growth, size limit, population
