Abstract
Enoxacin was evaluated in two double-blind comparative trials in a total of 200 male and female patients with urethral and/or endocervical gonorrhoea. Single 400-mg doses were effective in eradicating Neisseria gonorrhoeae (including penicillinase-producing strains) from patients. Enoxacin was as effective as the parcntcral drugs approved for treatment. Adverse events occurred in 3% of patients. Enoxacin has been shown to be an effective well tolerated and convenient treatment for gonorrhoea. Keywords
