Abstract
Antibodies to tuberculoproteins and tuberculopolysaccharides were identified and distinguished by the precipitin reaction, using purified antigens from tuberculin. Tuberculoprotein-treated rabbits had precipitating antibodies only to these proteins and low complement-fixation titers. Sensitization of rabbits with tuberculopolysaccharide gave rise only to antibodies to polysaccharide. None of these rabbits were immune. Sensitization with BCG usually resulted in immunity, induced precipitating antibodies to tuberculoprotein and tuberculopolysaccharide and high complement-fixing antibodies. Keywords
