Abstract
Significant variations of climate exist over short distances and in regions of gently diversified relief, local departures from regional macroclimatology may give rise to considerable temp. differences. The importance of such local variations for plant growth is demonstrated from meteorological-phenological surveys in the Bath area, and discussion of minimum and accumulated temp. data indicates major significance of incidence of temp. inversions, between hill and valley sites, through their effect on night temps. Keywords
