Abstract
The origin of the perpendicular anisotropy caused by annealing in electrodeposited nickel films was investigated at temperatures up to 400°C. The change of the perpendicular anisotropy can be explained in terms of magneto-elastic energy due to an internal planer stress induced by annealing. The origin due to non-magnetic inclusions was not found. It was found also that a rotatable anisotropy disappears by annealing at above 350°C. The disappearence of the rotatable anisotropy is thought to be due to the decrease of magnetic interactions among each grain because of the diffusion of substrate metal atoms into the film. Keywords
