Abstract
We comment on the interpretation of the functions P(t) and Q(t) that have been introduced by Huber and Ching [Phys. Rev. B 42, 7718 (1990)] for describing Frenkel exciton fluorescence in disordered systems following short-pulse, broadband excitation. Our conclusions are that P(t) characterizes the evolution in time of the intensity of exciton free induction fluorescence, and Q(t) characterizes the kinetics of the total population of excitons. The results are obtained using the density matrix approach. © 1996 The American Physical Society. Keywords
