Abstract
A simple hard-core system is studied over the entire density range. The model embodies both the simplicity associated with a nearest-neighbor lattice-gas interaction and the realism of a continuous configuration space. In two dimensions the model system shows no signs of a first-order phase transition. In three dimensions a transition is indicated. Keywords
