Abstract
The 0·61 m2 Meltec Multipoint dialyser has a performance 25% better than the standard Kiil at clinically important blood flows despite its smaller surface area. With low priming and uptake volumes, adequate ultrafiltration, and a negligible residual blood volume, it is compact and can be assembled by one person. It should replace the Kiil as the standard against which new dialysers are measured. Keywords
