Abstract
The general relativistic equations for a stationary axially symmetric rotating perfect fluid, in a comoving coordinate system, are presented in an elegant general form. The coordinates can then be chosen in any of several ways to further simplify the equations. One choice reduces the number of independent metric functions to three. Keywords
