Eighth spectrum of selenium: Se VIII

Abstract
The spectrum of selenium was photographed in the region 90 Å – 600 Å on a 10.7 m grazing incidence spectrograph at the National Bureau of Standards Laboratory, Washington, D.C. The source used was a triggered vacuum spark. On the basis of our measurements the Se VIII spectrum has been revised and extended. The parametric calculations of the energy levels and the intensity calculations of the observed transitions confirm the analysis. Forty-five lines are now classified in this spectrum. Resonance lines of Se VII spectrum were also measured accurately.
