Abstract
The presence of aldosterone binding, which was not identical with dexamethasone binding, was verified in the ciliary body of the bovine eye in vitro. The site of aldosterone binding was presumably located in the non pigmented layer of ciliary epithelium. Specific aldosterone binding was also found in lens epithelium but not in corneal epithelium. The finding of receptor-like aldosterone binding confirms the concept of possible mineralocortocoid-dependent active Na transport through the ciliary and lens epithelium in the eye. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
