Abstract
Case studies of twenty-five recent retirees from a Midwest plant are the basis for a profile of ordinary retirement. The commonalities of preparation, satisfaction, activity patterns, and relationships are found to far outweigh differences. Exceptions are the widowed, divorced, and those with health disabilities. Keywords
