Abstract
Experimental scattering data for collision-induced rotational transitions of Na2(B1 Pi u) have been fitted by calculations using potentials which are not invariant about the internuclear axis. The numerical treatment is based on a strong coupling approximation to the exact quantum-mechanical scattering theory, the latter being rigorously carried out in the framework of the helicity basis of angular momentum. Keywords
