Abstract
1. The phosphatidylethanolamine isolated from Bacillus cereus was degraded by phospholipase A [EC 3.1.1.4] of Crotalus adamanteus with a concomitant release of a lysophosphatidylethanolamine and β-positioned fatty acids in the presence of cetyltrimethylammoniuin bromide. 2. Lysophospholipase [EC 3.1.1.5] from Penicillium notatum split lysophosphatidylethanolamine with formation of an Lα-glycerophosphoryle-thanolamine and the α-positioned fatty acids in the presence of dioleoyl-phosphate. 3. The β-positioned fatty acids were composed of branched C13, normal and branched C14, and branched C15, while the α-positioned ones were composed of branched C15, normal and branched C16 and branched C17 acids. Keywords
