Abstract
The management of diabetic prospective mothers during the latter part of pregnancy has an important bearing upon fetal mortality. In 93 cases in which the mother was seen late in pregnancy, the fetal mortality was 36%. In 56 cases in which the mother had been seen early in pregnancy, an adequate treatment of the diabetes by classical management had been possible. Fetal mortality was 12%.
