Abstract
Unilateral osteoarthritis of the functional hand was observed in a 67-year-old monoplegic woman. The contralateral hand with flaccid paralysis was spared. In this and similar cases in the literature, there is apparently some need for neural innervation to an extremity for osteoarthritis to develop. Keywords
