Fostering Parent Involvement for Drug Prevention

Abstract
This article seeks to foster the formation of parent groups in support of drug prevention efforts by reviewing some observed start-up and continuation ideas. Charts summarize nine models which are expanded upon in the text along with a number of other suggested activities. The article concludes with a set of recommendations for professionals who are encouraged to function in facilitative roles with local parent organizations.
