Abstract
Although the benefits of zidovudine therapy with regard to the clinical status of patients with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) are well documented,1 the effect of this therapy on survival is as yet unknown. In their retrospective study, Moore et al. (May 16 issue)2 found a significant improvement in the prognosis of persons treated with zidovudine. However, we think there is a bias in their examination that makes it impossible to draw conclusions about the effect of zidovudine. Keywords
