Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 49-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of myelofibrosis with myeloid metaplasia and painful osteolytic lesions of the right femur. He had had essential thrombocythemia for 10 years that evolved into myelofibrosis with myeloid metaplasia. The hematologic findings throughout the patient's course are presented in Table 1. Hydroxyurea was administered, with a moderate decrease in the platelet count. Three years before entry massive splenomegaly was detected.Eleven months before admission minor trauma to the right knee caused abrasions and a hematoma; a septic bursitis soon developed, and incision with drainage was performed. Two months before entry . . .This publication has 27 references indexed in Scilit:
