Abstract
Alopecia Mucinosa. Presented by Dr. Herschel Zackheim. A white boy aged 12, of average build, presented a fine follicular papular eruption on the back of the neck, both popliteal spaces, shaft of the penis, coccyx, and right sacral areas. The papules were flesh-colored, discrete, somewhat shiny, and about 1 mm. in diameter. On the back of the neck they were closely set together and covered most of the skin surface. In the popliteal areas they were spaced farther apart and were more numerous in the left space. The patches over the coccyx and sacral areas were less well defined. Both elbows were dry and rough. The patient was first seen on April 5, 1957, because of the eruption on the back of the neck which had been present for about three or four months and a small patch of scaling alopecia on the left temporal scalp of one
